parent, healer, teacher
I utilize what I’ve learned as a bodyworker and doula to fulfill what I was meant to do in this lifetime. My greatest teachers have, by and far, been the two humans that chose me as their mother.
My own journey as a queer woman, single mother, and daughter have inspired so much of who I am, and how I approach supporting others.
I was born into this lifetime while the sun was in pisces, and the moon was in cancer. Cancer is the nurturer of the zodiac, and pisces is the dreamer, spiritual seeker, and crone. I was meant to care deeply for others, and to walk with people on their spiritual paths. Of course, this has also meant being deeply present for my own journey as well.
At the age of 16, I became a mother. I have been a mother for more years of my life than not. I have learned myself through the journey of parenthood. I believe revolution begins in the home, and I believe we are desperately in need of a revolution, a full cultural shift about how we do relationships— relationships with ourselves, with our families, our friends, other humans, with the land, and with all beings that we share this great planet with, that nourishes us, and gifts us the opportunity to experience all its joys and sorrows.
parenting has been both one of the hardest, and most rewarding journeys, and it’s on-going. Current generations are being called to heal generational trauma in a way that our ancestors simply didn’t have the resources for. It is a blessing to have the resources, but let’s be real— this shit is hard.
These are the spaces that I have been called towards- guiding you through the cycles of life and death, and back home to yourself.

the nitty gritty
Kayla completed her massage studies in Baton Rouge in 2008. She completed her doula training in New Orleans with Sista Midwife, Nicole Deggins, in 2013. She began teaching childbirth education in 2015, and travelled while training other childbirth educators for 4 years. Kayla has completed numerous trainings on female anatomy through the childbearing years, as well as the menopausal years. In 2023, Kayla certified as a Lymphedema Therapist, and is currently busy obtaining her certification as a personal trainer. Again, specializing in the pre- and post-natal years, as well as menopause, and is excited to begin offering this type of support for her clients.
