Therapeutic & Myofascial Massage in New Orleans

For the tension that's been building for years.

You've had massages that felt good for a day. Then the knot under your shoulder blade came back. Your jaw was clenched again by Tuesday. Your low back flared the first time you lifted your toddler out of the car seat.

That's because the pain usually isn't the whole story. Your body has been compensating, quietly and for a long time, for everything you carry. Therapeutic and myofascial massage looks for the pattern underneath, so relief can last.

Kayla Stroughter, Licensed Massage Therapist (LA4848)

20 years of structural and myofascial bodywork

Does this sound like you?

  • Your neck and shoulders ache from feeding, carrying, lifting, and keeping a hundred tabs open in your head.

  • You wake up with a sore jaw, or catch yourself clenching your teeth in the middle of the day.

  • Your hips, low back, or SI joint hurt when you stand, sleep, or pick something up wrong.

  • One hard workout and you're wrecked for three days.

  • Nothing that worked for your body in your twenties works now.

  • An old injury, surgery, or pregnancy left a pattern that never fully let go.

Nothing is wrong with you. Your body is doing what bodies do: adapting to keep you going. We work with that intelligence instead of against it.

What is Myofascial Release?

Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps every muscle, bone, and organ in your body, like a continuous web. When it tightens from injury, surgery, stress, or repeated strain, it pulls on everything around it. That's why the ache in your hip can start somewhere else entirely.

Myofascial release uses slow, sustained pressure to soften those restrictions and restore movement. I combine it with structural integration, deep tissue work, and an understanding of whole-body patterns, so we address where the pain comes from, not just where you feel it.

Care for the body you're living in now.

Sessions may include:

Structural and fascial bodywork: Hands-on work that addresses patterns of tension, restriction, posture, and movement throughout the body.

Womb, abdominal, and pelvic care: Individualized external work for abdominal and pelvic tension, and for the lasting changes of pregnancy, postpartum, and other life transitions.

Jaw and neck care: Focused work for TMJ tension, jaw clenching, headaches, tight neck muscles, and surrounding structures.

Deep tissue massage: Firm, focused pressure for stubborn tension, always within the range of what your body is ready to receive.

Movement and somatic practices: Gentle movement, breathing, and body-awareness practices informed by fascial work and qigong to help you explore how you move and care for yourself between sessions.

How each session works

Listen. We start by understanding what your body has been telling you through pain, tension, and compensation.

Restore. Hands-on work releases restrictions, improves movement, and supports your body's natural capacity to heal.

Integrate. You leave with a deeper awareness of your body and simple tools to keep the change going.

Sessions & Packages

Single session: 90 minutes · $200

Four-session bundle: four 90-minute sessions · $760

Bodywork & Movement Package: 7 weeks · $2500

For when you're tired of feeling better for a day.

A single massage can bring real relief. But if the same pain keeps coming back, the pattern that creates it is still running: every time you lift, carry, nurse, sit at a desk, or sleep curled around a child. Hands-on work releases that pattern. But unless your body learns a new way to move, it will quietly rebuild the old one.

This seven-week container pairs the two. Bodywork releases what your body has been holding. Weekly live movement sessions, built from Qigong and fascial science, teach your body a new pattern in a few minutes a day.

Between sessions, I'm a text away.

By the end, you'll understand why your body hurts, know what to do when it flares, and have a practice short enough to keep for life. This is care that keeps working after I leave.

This is for you if:

You've tried massage, chiropractic, or physical therapy, and the relief never lasts.

You want to understand your body, not just have someone fix it for a day.

You're ready to take part in your own care, as long as it fits the life you already have.

You don't want another demanding routine. You want something simple enough to actually do.

What's Included:

90-minute intake session

Six 90-minute bodywork sessions

A personalized movement and strengthening program built from Qigong and fascial science

Weekly live 60-minute virtual sessions, recorded for your home practice

Unlimited text support

Educational content to support your progress

90-minute closing session to plan your ongoing care

On their own, six 90-minute sessions would be $1,200. The package adds your intake and closing sessions, seven weeks of live movement coaching with recordings to keep, and direct access to me the whole way through.

Ready to Feel Better in Your Body?

Will the massage hurt?

Some discomfort can come up, depending on what we're addressing. We work within your body's capacity: you should be able to breathe and soften into the pressure. Each session is a collaboration, and your feedback guides how deep we go. Soreness usually lessens with regular sessions.

What's the difference between deep tissue & myofascial?

Deep tissue uses firm pressure on muscle. Myofascial release uses slower, sustained pressure on the fascia around the muscle. Most of my sessions blend both, depending on what your body needs.

How often should I come?

My work is most effective as a series. Patterns your body has held for years usually take 4 to 8 sessions, spaced one to two weeks apart, to shift in a lasting way. After that, maintenance every 3 to 6 weeks keeps your body from sliding back into old patterns.

The four-session bundle is the simplest way to begin. If you also want tools to support your body between sessions and for the rest of your life, the 7-week Bodywork & Movement Package pairs bodywork with a movement practice that's yours to keep.

Do you only work with women?

My specialty is women's health, but my structural and myofascial work applies to all bodies, at every stage of life.

How do I prepare for an in-home massage?

At the first visit, we'll find the best spot to set up together. Pets and kids are welcome, and please don't apologize for a messy house. If you'd prefer quiet, book when you have childcare, or come to the studio.

What days are you available at each location?

Wednesday · Greenwell Springs- Central, LA, Revive Suites located at 6691 Sullivan Rd.

What do I do after my session?

Drink water or tea, consider an Epsom salt soak, and eat something warm, like soup. A walk or gentle movement like qigong or yin yoga. Rest that evening if you can.

What if I have to cancel or reschedule?

There is a 48-hour cancellation policy that you are agreeing to anytime you book a session, except in cases of emergency or illness, in which case we will reschedule our session for within 2 weeks of the cancellation. Cycles of Becoming has a NO REFUND policy, please be sure you want to purchase before doing so.

I still have questions or am unsure which service is right for me.

Book a 30-min discovery call with me and let's chat. We can get to know one another, I can answer your questions, and I can offer guidance on how I can best support you.
